We were asked to tender for this project through local architects, Cross & Craig Asociates in Dorridge . This was a large modern house, with a small kitchen and a study room off the kitchen. The brief was to enlarge the kitchen to create a dining area and improve the flow of the downstairs by removing walls.
We achieved this by building a beautiful glazed extension linking the snug and kitchen together. A dining area was added which was designed to let light flood into this part of the house, with glazed panels, concertina sliding aluminium doors and large roof lights.
In the snug room, the old fashioned fire place was removed and a modern gas fire was inserted into the wall to increase the space. A glazed obscure panel was installed between the lounge and the dining room to create more light in the lounge. The old kitchen units were removed, the floor was excavated and under floor heating installed. The whole room was plastered, modern electrics installed and a new kitchen was fitted with island units. The house was decorated throughout.
The customers are absolutely delighted with the results which are being greatly admired by their friends and family.
